The Depot – Where History and Community Brew Together

The Depot (11505 Park Rd, Anchorage, KY 40223), now home to TEN20 Craft Brewery, is a thoughtfully designed building that bridges Anchorage’s past and present. While the current structure is new, it pays homage to the original interurban train station that once stood at the intersection of Evergreen and Station Roads, built around 1902. The original station was a vital stop on the electric interurban line that connected Pewee Valley to Anchorage, offering a reliable and efficient means of transportation for commuters, students, and travelers in the early 20th century.

The design of the modern Depot captures the architectural spirit of the historic station, with a style that reflects the utility and charm of early railroad buildings—complete with traditional rooflines, overhangs, and industrial touches that feel both nostalgic and welcoming. Its construction marked an important step in the continued revitalization of Anchorage’s town center.

By anchoring the corner of downtown with a lively, modern gathering spot, The Depot helped shape a cohesive commercial district that blends old and new. Surrounded by renovated historical properties and local businesses, the area has become a vibrant destination for residents and visitors alike.

Today, TEN20 Craft Brewery brings a new kind of energy to the site. With a wide selection of locally brewed beers, indoor and outdoor seating, and frequent community events, it offers a space where people can come together—just as they did more than a century ago when trains brought friends and neighbors to this very spot. The Depot isn’t just a building; it’s a modern tribute to Anchorage’s transportation heritage, community spirit, and ongoing growth.
